400 kV power line

SPIE will construct the first section of the strategic 400 kV transmission line between Choczewo, Gdańsk Błonia and Grudziądz Węgrowo

Zawartość

SPIE Energy Poland S.A. has been selected as the lead member of the consortium responsible for the construction of the first section of the 400 kV transmission line from Choczewo – Gdańsk Błonia – Grudziądz Węgrowo transmission line. This is one of the key investments by Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne, and forms an important part of the expansion of the national transmission infrastructure.

The new line will enable offshore wind farms in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea to be connected to the National Power System, supporting the development of renewable energy sources, the country’s energy security and the transformation of the Polish energy sector.

This will not be our first investment in Pomerania of such strategic importance for Poland’s energy security. We are currently constructing a 22-kilometre section of transmission line running from the Choczewo substation to pylon no. 64 in the municipality of Gniewino. Completion of this work is scheduled for 2027. At the same time, as the consortium leader, we are responsible for the construction of the 400 kV Choczewo substation – one of the most important grid infrastructure projects currently underway in Poland. It is this substation that will receive the energy generated by offshore
wind farms and is already playing a key role in preparing the National Power System for the integration of energy from offshore wind farms.

An extremely important aspect of implementing projects of this type is the involvement of regional partners and the use of local resources. Cooperation with local authorities, businesses and local communities forms an integral part of the project, which we are carrying out whilst taking environmental and social aspects into account. We believe that energy investments on this scale should not only strengthen the country’s energy security, but also create lasting value for the regions in which they are carried out.
