SPIE finalises installation of electrical and intelligent management systems at the Centre for Eco-Innovation at Gdansk University of Technology

SPIE Elektromontaż Poznań, a Polish company of the SPIE Group, has successfully completed advanced electrical and telecommunications works at the Centre for Eco-Innovation of the Gdansk University of Technology - one of the most modern scientific and research facilities in Poland. The investment, covering an area of almost 13,000 m², was very well received by the academic and industry community and was honoured with the title of "Construction Oscar" in the Construction of the Year competition.

The scope of SPIE Elektromontaż Poznań's work included, among other things, the connection of the facility to the external network.Among other things, the scope of work included connecting the building to the external power grid, installing energy-efficient lighting, implementing a photovoltaic system and a wind turbine, as well as completing the complete teletechnical infrastructure, security and fire protection systems. The integrated solutions support intelligent building management, high energy efficiency and the minimisation of environmental impact.

The Eco-Innovation Centre, operated by PG's Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, conducts interdisciplinary research in the areas of clean technologies, sustainable transport and the closed-loop economy, among others. The facility, equipped with a green roof, heat pumps and water recovery systems, is a model example of modern sustainable construction in Central Europe.
